Image
Sally, Watch, Adam, and Cindy are sitting around and talking about how it's almost time for school to start when Sally starts talking about this guy Bryce Poole. While it's clear she just wants Cindy to leave Adam alone, Sally also points out that he knows all about some random Secret Path. They've already been on the Secret Path, and the guys refuse to believe that Bryce both knows about it and went on it. After some more talk, they decide to find their way back to the Secret Path. They have to go to the grave of Madeline Templeton and then go to a bunch of places associated with her life before the path opens up. When they get to the last spot, they find Bryce's backpack left behind. It's full of random gear, but they get distracted when the path opens. Cindy agrees to wait behind while the others follow it. They wind up in a little town that looks just like their hometown but is much brighter and happier. The food tastes better and is free, people ...

It's Halloween night in Spooksville, and the gang goes to a party thrown by this guy Bryce. After talking about the witch, they agree to go to Ann Templeton's house. She gives them the option of choosing trick or treat. Adam and Bryce want Mars bars, which she gives them. Spooksville #6: The Witch's Revenge

Image
Adam, Sally, Watch, and Cindy are all sitting around and drinking vanilla milkshakes as they lament the fact that there's nothing to do in Spooksville. The conversation somehow turns to Ms. Ann Templeton, who most of the kids in town this is a witch. Supposedly, she once turned a girl into a sand statue after the girl beat her in a chess match. Cindy is the only one who doesn't really believe, which makes Adam agree with her. They all decide to go her castle. Even though they don't see anyone, the door magically opens on its own. After seeing a strange hourglass, they come across four necklaces, each with a different stone. Everyone feels drawn to one specifically, but Sally urges them not to wear them in case they turn into toads or something. Watch puts one on anyway, and it causes his eyes to get better. He previously had some problems, and the doctors said he couldn't get a better prescription. Cindy wears one that makes her look and feel more beauti...

Image
Sally, Adam, Watch, and Cindy are wandering around town when they come across some weird blocks of ice. Watch thinks there's something strange about the blocks. The surface temperature of each one is way below what it should be and there looks like there might be something trapped inside. After dragging one of the blocks into the woods, they start a fire. The fire melts some of the ice and reveals a man inside. His arm comes loose, Watch touches it, and the hand grabs him. The man eventually escapes, grabs Watch, and runs off into the woods with him. The others go to see Bum, the former mayor of town who is now viewed as a crazy guy. Bum tells them that it sounds like the guy was one of the Cold People. Years ago, there were two different continents: Atlantis and Mu. Star People came down in spaceships and asked to help the world. Both went to each continent and said that the other would kill them. There was also something about making the people live forever. Atla...

Image

She talks it out with her friends, and they basically take a wait and see approach. Adam does, however, tell her to call him if she gets scared later that same night. Naturally, the light comes back and starts taking over her room. Cindy manages to make one phone call before a giant green monster pops out and drags her away. Adam gets there and finds her missing, so he calls the gang and they all meet in her bedroom. Watch decides that since she had such a big fear of the closet that she made the monster inside come to life. Sally remembers that this kid George has a massive fear too. In a completely dick move, they go over to his house, and Sally keeps riding him until he's terrified. The monster then comes out of his closet, they grab it, and Adam, Sally, and Watch get pulled through the closet. Cindy wakes...

While helping his dad carry furniture into the new house, his dad throws out his back and gives him some money to run and grab a pack of Coke from the store. He runs into a girl who introduces herself as Sally, helps herself to one of his drinks, and offers him a tour of the city. Sally tells him that all the kids call the town Spooksville because so many weird things happen there. She tells him about the girl who disappeared when a cloud came out of the sky and swallowed her whole, which her friend Watch saw happen. As they go near the grocery store, he sees a gorgeous black Corvette. As a shopping cart careens toward it, he throws himself in front of the car and Sally screams at him to stop. The woman is Ann Templeton, and she seems to know everything about Adam. She tells him that he’s much more polite than the other kids in town, makes a few cryptic comments, makes rude comments abou...
