Nancy Drew Books?
January 18, 2014 Edit:
Thanks for all the feedback guys! It looks like I'll just stick around here to recap the Nancy Drew books. I have no clue yet when I'll put my first one up. I picked up one of the more modern books from a book sale, started reading it, and loved it. The only weird thing is that Nancy goes missing, so George, Ned, and Bess have to work together to find her. I didn't realize that so many of you loved her as much as I do LOL.
I know that this blog gets a lot of page views even if people don't necessarily comment a lot. For those who do read or comment, I have a question. Would anyone be interested in seeing recaps from Nancy Drew books? I have quite a few of the older books that came out in the late 80s/early 90s when Nancy was in college, but I also have some of the newer books and some of the originals.
My first thought was to create a separate blog, but now I'm not sure. I already cover so many books on here, from Goosebumps and Sweet Valley Twins to The BSC and Christopher Pike books, that it seems like adding one more series might be overkill.
If I created a Nancy Drew blog, it wouldn't get updated nearly as much as this blog. I don't have as many Nancy Drew books as I do the books recapped here, and as much as I love those books, I could see myself getting bored if forced to read a string of them in one sitting. If I did create a new blog, it would cover all of the Nancy Drew books from the original yellow hardbacks to the newer books where she's in middle school.
So, what does everyone think? Should Nancy get her own book, or should she stick around here?

Stick around here! I love this blog, sorry I don't comment very often.. I read via an RSS feed. I'd love to see some old Nancy Drew recaps. :)
ReplyDeleteWrite about Nancy Drew here! I would def read the recaps and ready my books along too :)
ReplyDeleteI would love those, especially those ones from the 80s (not when she was in college, just high school Nancy). They are fantastic!
ReplyDeleteI would love to read those recaps and you should just save time and use this blog! I feel like not many people do Nancy recaps compared to the numerous BSC, SV, etc ones so I'd be interested.
ReplyDeleteI agree! Just use this blog! I would love to read Nancy Drew recaps!
ReplyDeleteI would love Nancy Drew re-caps
ReplyDeleteThanks for all the comments guys! I think I'll just stick around here :)
ReplyDeleteDefinitely would LOVE some Nancy Drew recaps here, can't wait to read them soon! :)
ReplyDeleteOh, I would love to see these. The Nancy Drew mysteries were my introduction to reading chapter books back in the mid sixties. My mom had given me her collection to read (the originals from the thirties), and I was instantly hooked. To this day, I still favor mysteries over any other type of novel, which I attribute to Nancy Drew.
ReplyDeletePlease recap Nancy Drew here! I loved the ones written in the 80s and actually can't part with my meagre collection. I still instinctively look for Nancy Drew books whenever I go to a secondhand bookshop. Growing up in Australia, they were hard to get and nobody else read them! Laura
ReplyDeleteWill do! I have a few of the college era ones, some of the ones that came out in the later 90s, and some of the classic blue and yellow ones. I'd love to get my hands on some of the originals but don't want to pay the money :)
